❗️Plamek. This six-week-old kitten needs urgent help. His injured leg cannot be saved.❗️
Look at the hands supporting his head during the examination. Beside them, you can see just how tiny Plamek is. The vet moves an ultrasound probe over his little belly, checks his condition and carefully examines his injured leg. There is a deep, torn wound. In the next photo, a bandage covers it, but underneath is an injury that can no longer be repaired. Plamek is only six weeks old. His leg cannot be saved. It must be amputated, but first his condition needs to be stabilised.

This little male kitten was brought to the clinic from the streets and taken into our care. The wound is not his only problem. Plamek has cat flu, a severe worm infestation and is very weak. During the examination, the vet also notes a lack of muscle tone. He eats so little on his own that he needs help with feeding. He is receiving an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medication and eye drops. Before surgery can go ahead, his whole little body needs care, as well as his injured leg.
On the streets, there is no caregiver to give him medication at the right time or check whether he has eaten enough. There are no hands to hold him during an examination, and no vet to decide when he is ready for surgery. Homeless kittens grow up surrounded by dangers that even adult animals often struggle to survive. Plamek arrived at the clinic bearing the consequences of that start in life. Now our team is by his side. Now he is receiving treatment. And right now, we are asking you to help us provide the care he still needs.

Perhaps your eyes go straight to the bandage, and you think about the leg he will lose. We also see everything he can still have: the chance to eat without constant help, regain his strength, heal and grow up away from the streets. Amputation is a necessary stage of his treatment, but Plamek needs help both before and after it. Medication, check-ups, proper nutrition, surgery and care throughout his recovery.
Thanks to you, we have so often been able to stay by an animal’s side long after the first examination. To pay for further treatment, see them through recovery and watch their strength return after weeks of care. Today, we are asking you to do this for Plamek. You do not have to be with us at the clinic to be part of what is happening here. Your support can help pay for his medication, surgery and ongoing care.

Plamek faces a difficult operation, but he also has a whole life ahead of him that deserves our care. Please help us see him through treatment. We want to show you this same little kitten again, without a bandage, with his wound healed, busy playing instead of undergoing another examination. Together, we can work towards that day.
