Mary needs help!

‼️ Mary will be gone forever in 9 hours - urgent $390‼️

We stand.
Shoulder to shoulder.
The sun is rising.
We still have a few hours.

The cool autumn air hits my nostrils as I take a deep breath.

Mary stands up straight.
She breathes more and more nervously.
She is facing all this fear.
The fear of dying.

There is no shame to be afraid....
isn't it?

We stare at the barn door.

There is silence.
Only a few of the first stray leaves of the autumn are falling through the broken windows, making a slight rustling sound.
Soon this door will open for them. And a gust of autumn wind will blow into the barn.

She will go.
She will go quietly.
And I will stay here.

I touch her neck.
I feel her whole body tremble.
Chilly gusts rub her teary eyes.
It doesn't always happen, but there are times when horses cry.

When the kill buyer comes in, I have to tell him.
He will count the money.
He'll see that a part is missing.

He'll pull out a rope halter.
A white, thin one.
Firstly, the horses don't jerk in it because it hurts, and secondly, it's cheap.

And what does Mary need a halter for, where she's going?

He will tug on the halter, she will lower her head and follow him.
Hoof after hoof, she will cross the threshold of the barn and twirl her mane in the wind one last time.

This is the last autumn old Mary will see.
Before the golden leaves cover the world, no one will remember her.

This is her last cry.
And I am crying with her.

Hear us in this silence.
When they come for her, don't let them take her away.
