Help animals from Ukraine

The Centaurus Foundation has been supporting Ukraine since the day Russian aggression started. During this time, more than 500 Centaurus convoys entered Ukraine with aid for animals and people. We have set up a humanitarian base in Medyka, near the Ukrainian border, where we were receiving aid from all over the world. In Lviv, meanwhile, we set up a logistics center and provided aid to animals from all over Ukraine. Throughout this time, we delivered several hundred tonnes of food and took almost 2,000 dogs and cats under our wings.

The Centaurus Foundation has been supporting Ukraine since the day Russian aggression started. During this time, more than 500 Centaurus convoys entered Ukraine with aid for animals and people. We have set up a humanitarian base in Medyka, near the Ukrainian border, where we were receiving aid from all over the world. In Lviv, meanwhile, we set up a logistics center and provided aid to animals from all over Ukraine. Throughout this time, we delivered several hundred tonnes of food and took almost 2,000 dogs and cats under our wings. Today, most of these animals already have their loving adoptive homes in different countries. We have involved and united thousands of people, and are currently working with volunteers in Ukraine, who day and night rescue animals left to die. New transports of animals are constantly arriving. Due to our accommodation and financial possibilities, we mainly take in dogs and cats that have suffered war-related accidents, are old, sick, or have come from the worst war zones. We have evacuated animals from shelters, private individuals, and homeless animals. We have fed many animals locally in Ukraine as we cannot take in all the animals, but only those unable to cope and survive on their own. Poland has taken in tens of thousands of animals from Ukraine and since the war started the Polish border crossed more than 8.5 million refugees from Ukraine. Poles are very tired and have no more capacities to support our work as much as they would like to, which is why we are trying to seek support from all over the world. To date, we have over 300 dogs and cats who cannot find new homes because they are sick and crippled. Most European countries refuse to take them in. We are losing hope and are afraid that soon we will not be able to help animals as much as we would like.

We need commitment from all over the world because we need to help both animals and people. At the moment, in December 2022, the situation in Ukraine is dramatic. The electricity only works 1.5 hours a day, people have no heating, and animals are left alone to die.
