since 2006
The Centaurus Foundation has been working on behalf of animals since 2006.
We are an international non-profit organization based in Poland that focuses its activities and projects around animal welfare in many aspects. We rescued nearly 2247 horses, over 200 donkeys, several hundred dogs, and cats, and numerous livestock thanks to more than 800.000 Donors from all over the world who have committed to our organization.
The Animal Farm in Szczedrzykowice (near Legnica, Poland) acquired by Centaurus in 2012 is currently the largest horse sanctuary in Europe, where nearly 2247 ungulates and hundreds of other animals are cared for. In addition, the Foundation runs an over 400-hectare reserve within the Przemkowski Landscape Park, where it grazes hundreds of its horses thanks to many years of cooperation with the Park's management.
The Foundation is politically and religiously independent. Its activities are carried out solely thanks to the support and donations from private individuals, companies and institutions. Our numerous charity projects generate income, which is entirely allocated to the realization of statutory goals and to the maintenance of animals at the Manor Farm and in the reserve, as well as to the regular support of educational projects and as support for other pro-animal organizations.
The Centaurus Foundation works thanks to the commitment of many volunteers and several permanent employees. The volunteers are the guarantee of the long-lasting passion from which all Centaurus activities stem.
The employees, proven, with years of experience, provide stability and professional care for our charges in the foundation's stables, on the routes and in the clinics.

Become a funder of change for hundreds of animals by supporting our efforts regularly!

One of the priority goals of our foundation, besides protecting animal rights and working towards contact therapy with animals, is to support other organizations/individuals whose goals coincide with our statutory objectives.
We support adoptive families in treatment and maintenance of horses (terms of adoption you can find on the main page in the section "adoptions"). We buy out horses, subject them to rehabilitation, pre-train and provide free of charge for hippotherapy.
We organize activities for children and youth at risk of social marginalization. We support financially, materially and substantively organizations of a similar profile.
