Here is Brysia: 

We met Brysia because someone called that an old horse fell down and doesn’t get up.

She was lying down.
With begging eyes looking up at the sky with the rest of her strength, she raised her head.
But help did not come.

They lifted her.
She walked, with the rest of her strength she walked, hoof by hoof, amidst the March winds and melting snow.

She gave everything she had to people.
And she had only herself.

She gave all her health, every heartbeat, day by day.

And now, with so few of those days left, her owner sentenced her to death, without a second thought.

Here we are, at Brysia’s place.
When we arrived, she was already in her wooden barn.

She looked at us with the eyes of a condemned man, for whom nothing is waiting anymore.

All her life no one gave her anything when she was young and strong, why should they give now? When she is a wreck of a horse, on shaky legs and with protruding bones?

It's hard to find a reason.
The kill buyer also has other horses.
Healthy, strong, waiting for a private client.

But nobody wants Brysia anymore.
Everyone knows that she barely got here.

And from here only a truck will take her away before the sun rises tomorrow.
